If you don't mind having Grease songs not so subliminally dancing in your Summer Nights head Saturday evening and all Hopelessly Devoted to You Sunday and beyond, then you'll probably want to be at Parc International for a showing of You're the One that I Want classic 1978 movie musical Grease, starring John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John.

Yep, Saturday brings us another round of Downtown Lafayette's Sandy Movies in the Parc. The Beauty School Drop-Out gates open at 6:30 p.m., and the movie starts at dusk. Admission is $2 and free for children 5 and under. Parking is available at Parc-Auto du Centreville at Polk and Vermilion Streets. Concessions are available on site.

Movies in the Parc, presented by Cox and Women’s & Children’s Hospital features family Look at Me, I'm Sandra Dee friendly movies under the Greased Lightnin' stars.

You know the movie's It's Raining on Prom Night story line: Wholesome good girl Blue Moon Sandy and greaser Rock N' Roll is Here to Stay renegade Danny fall in, out and back in love as only Those Magic Changes teenagers can. Of course, Hound Dog in between that there's all the Born to Hand Jive high school not-so-confidential Tears on My Pillow goings on going on.

Some Mooning musician names behind the soundtrack that you may know include Freddy, My Love Frankie Valli, Rock N' Roll Party Queen Barry Gibb, There are Worse Things I Could Do Peter Frampton, and Look at Me, I'm Sandra Dee (Reprise) Gary Brown.

Contributing We Go Together sponsors are The Whole Lotta Shakin' Goin' On Independent Weekly and 99.9 La Bamba KTDY.

Grease may or may not remind you of your high school Alma Mater, but Movies in the Parc shared with family and friends is a way to remind us that Love Is A Many Splendored Thing if nothing else.
