It may be hard to believe that the spring season of Downtown Alive! comes to an end tonight, but with Rareluth and Royal Teeth sharing the bill, it should be one you won't soon forget.

And it all goes down at Parc Sans Souci with Rareluth kicking off the show and Royal Teeth following and it all begins at 5:30 p.m.

"We wanted to get both bands in," says Kate Durio, marketing and communications manager. "Those two bands play really well together. So if you like their type of music, it's a good chance to see both of them together."

Rareluth blends Indie, Electronica and a hint of dance which produces energetic and enjoyable music that gets you out of your seat and on your feet. The band consists of local musicians Christine Peirce, Blake Ortego and Ryan DeJean..

"Christine Peirce is phenomenal. Anytime you see her, she is doing innovative things with music," Durio says. "Her voice is incredible. She's kind of the powerhouse behind the band. They're really good performers."

Royal Teeth's music is "youthful anthem, fun, energetic Indie sound," Durio says.

Royal Teeth, formed in November 2010, is Gary Larsen, vocals; Nora Patterson, vocals; Andrew Poe, keyboards, Stevie Billeaud, guitar; Josh Wells, bass; and Josh Hefner, drums.

When the band was getting booked for the DTA! finale, Durio says their song Wild played in the opening of the ABC drama Body of Proof, and they've since been on CNN, played South by Southwest, GM/Buick in Canada used the song in a commercial and have signed with Dangerbird Records.

"So we were lucky to get them," she says.

Durio notes that Royal Teeth is set to play the House of Blues in New Orleans Saturday at the band's signing party with Dangerbird Records.

"So, it's $20 to see them at the House of Blues tomorrow and tonight you can see them for free with Rareluth," says Durio, adding that Rareluth is playing at the Circle Bar tomorrow in New Orleans - with a cover, too.

DTA! begins at 5:30 p.m. with food and beverage concessions – musical performances from 6 p.m.-8:30 p.m.

Concession sales help keep DTA! free, so please leave your ice chests at home with your pets. For more information, visit here. Downtown Alive! is produced by Downtown Lafayette in cooperation with Lafayette Consolidated Government.
