The Southern Screen Film Festival launches its four-day lineup tonight beginning at 6:30 p.m. with an opening night party at the LITE Center featuring the Lafayette premiere of Sleepwalk With Me, which follows a struggling comedian who reexamines his life after he sleepwalks right out of a window.
The Southern Screen Film Festival will then stretch across several venues in Lafayette including the LITE Center, Acadiana Center for the Arts, Jefferson Street Pub and Cité des Arts with cinema related panels and workshops in addition to its many screenings of short films, music videos and documentaries.
Several of the featured documentaries were shot in Louisiana including Beasts of the Southern Wild, Water on the Road, Tarzan: Lord of the Louisiana Jungle and T-Gallop: A Louisiana Horse Story.
There will also be special events like the opening night party featuring food from Jefferson Street Pub and music by DJ Andre Broussard at the LITE Center Thursday night and the wrap party on Sunday, Nov. 18, at the Blue Moon Saloon with music from Bonsoir Catin starting at 7 p.m.
The Southern Screen Film Festival runs all weekend from Nov. 15-18 with weekend passes for $20, day passes for $10, single event passes for $5 and special events running for $10. Students also get in free for the festival except for special events.
