Vermilionville is joining forces with the South Arts Southern Circuit of Independent Filmmakers for a special screening of Pride & Joy: A Southern Foodways Alliance Film.

The hour-long documentary features director Joe York as he speaks with the various stewards of the Southern food culture while painting an intimate portrait of the people and places associated with it. A Q & A will be held after the screening with York himself where the audience can ask about the past and future of Southern Food.

Pride & Joy screens on Monday, Sept. 16, starting at 6:30 p.m., at the Vermilionville Performance Center, located at 300 Fisher Road. Admission to the screening is $10. For tickets, call (337) 233-4077 or visit Vermilionville.org.
