Festival plus more for Thursday night

It’s the second night of Festival International. Here’s a list of bands you can see tonight in downtown Lafayette, Festival and non-Festival related. This includes Blue Moon Saloon, Artmosphere, and Sadie’s Nightclub, which are all putting on festival-related shows.

Also, this just in from Festival International people in regards to tonight’s headliner and other slots over the weekend.

Due to the volcano eruption in Iceland, we have just been made aware that both Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings and Black Joe Lewis & the Honeybears are having difficulties with their scheduled flights back to the US from Europe. Once we are sure of any definite changes to the schedule, we will let you know. We are exploring some GREAT alternatives.

Sharon Jones & the Dap Kings are confirmed for tonight.

From Fest. Int'l: SCHEDULE UPDATE: Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings have arrived in Louisiana and will be performing tonight at Scène Popeyes. We want to invite everyone to join us tonight for Opening Ceremonies and the many great performances at Scène Popeyes and Scène Bacardi. Don’t forget to ride the Festival Shuttle! Just go to Cajun Field and park for FREE and catch the Festival Shuttle, it brings you to the corner of Lee Avenue & Jefferson Street. The shuttle runs every 15 minutes and the last shuttle leaves downtown 30 minutes after the last performance. The first shuttle rides out of Cajun Field at 5:30pm tonight.

SCHEDULE UPDATE: Due to the Iceland Volcano, Black Joe Lewis & The Honeybears is stuck in Europe and unable to make it to Festival International. We are disappointed but understand the situation. We have replaced Black Joe Lewis & The Honeybears with a great band: T-Bird and the Breaks (www.tbirdandthebreaks.com)!
