Brooklyn, New York's So Percussion drum group makes its Acadiana debut at Parc International on Sept. 22 for PASA's free PASA in the Park event, but in the meantime you can catch the group's drumming workshop in River Ranch this afternoon. Join So Percussion for an afternoon of drum instruction at River Ranch Town Square. This is an all ages workshop on drumming and creating your own beats. And you don't even need a real drum. Just bring a regular household item like a pot or spoon and learn how to turn it into your very on musical insturment.
Admission is free and all ages. No registration required.

David Calhoun and Elizabeth “EB” Brooks are the first two employees of Lafayette Central Park Inc., the nonprofit charged with turning Lafayette Consolidated Government’s 100-acre Johnston Street Horse Farm property into a passive public park. Calhoun was named executive director, and Brooks is director of planning and design.
