Toys for Tots Fundraiser at The Shed

If you haven’t checked out Acadiana’s newest blues haunt, you’re missing out. The Shed BBQ, located in Scott, is both a blues joint – offering the best in authentic local and regional live blues music – and a BBQ joint. There’s no better reason to get out there than this weekend’s Toys for Tots Fundraiser.

On Dec. 10, The Shed BBQ, in conjunction with the U.S. Marine Reserves, will host a benefit show and Christmas toy drive with all proceeds going to Acadiana’s Toys for Tots program. It will be an all-day affair which will include a free sandwich giveaway, live music, a visit from the Louisiana Icegators, and activities for the whole family.

The first 300 people to bring in a new, unwrapped toy or make a monetary donation of $10 or more to the Acadiana Toys for Tots program will receive a free pulled pork sandwich courtesy of The Shed BBQ. Schilling Distributing Company will also be on hand with free giveaways all afternoon.

The music starts at noon and won’t stop until the place closes at 9 p.m. with performances by local musicians Hugh & the Wreckin’ Crew, Lil’ Malcolm & The Zydeco House Rockers, The Ronnie Vice Blues Jam Band, Wayne “Blue” Burns, and others.

Acadiana Fun Jumps will be on site all day with a fun jump for the kids, and the U.S. Marine Reserves will have several military vehicles on display. The Louisiana Icegators will also be at The Shed at 4 p.m. to meet fans and sign autographs.

This is a family event. The organizers of the show encourage parents to bring their children to enjoy the music and activities and support Acadiana Toys for Tot.
