The Lost Bayou Ramblers perform at DBA in New Orleans
during Jazz Fest (from their Facebook page).

Louisiana Folk Roots and the Acadiana Center for the Art’s Creativity @ the Center are pleased to present the fourth set of School of Music workshops featuring all five members, two alums and a major mentor of the one and only, Grammy-nominated Lost Bayou Ramblers.

For three consecutive Tuesday evenings beginning Sept. 6, the members of The Lost Bayou Ramblers along with special guests Tommy Michot, Matthew Doucet and Alan LaFleur will present a wide variety of tunes and topics open to intermediate level fiddlers, accordionists and guitarists (bassists, too). These unique sessions will culminate on Sunday, Sept. 25 with a graduation ceremony and “school-wide” jam session in which School of Music students will be invited to play the tunes they’ve learned with the entire band.

School of Music registrants are welcome to attend any and all sessions. And though these sessions are designed to be of the greatest benefit to intermediate-level players, players of all levels and even non-players are welcome to register on a first-come, first-served basis.

Admission to the series of four sessions is just $30 for members of Friends of Louisiana Folk Roots or the Acadiana Center for the Arts, and just $40 for the general public. Space is limited, so call the AcA at (337) 233-7060 to enroll now, or click here to enroll on-line.
