The Lafayette Science Museum Foundation wants you to know that on top of bringing nea-to exhibitions to its downtown space they also like to get down. The museum is in charge of the Bach Lunch series and the 2011 fall line-up is a doozy.
The Bach Lunch series encourages folks to leave their offices and spend an hour or two (if the boss is out of town) in Parc Sans Souci listening to great music, and it’s all for free. You can bring a sack lunch or, even better, pick up food from one of the local vendors. Different restaurants are featured every week and for under $10 you can get a great meal. The series convenes on Fridays from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Here is the fall line-up:
Oct. 7: Les Freres Michot. Restaurants are Chris’ Po-Boys, iMonelli and Trynd.
Oct. 14: Cedric Watson & Bijou Creole. Restaurants are French Press, Hub City Diner, Joey’s Specialty Foods and Roly Poly.
Oct. 21: Miss Emily & the Collard Greens. Restaurants are Abacus Restaurant & Catering, Popeye’s Famous Fried Chicken and Poupart’s Bakery.
Oct. 28: Johanna Divine. Restaurants are Creole Lunch House, Tsunami Sushi and Zea’s Rotisserie & Grill.
Nov. 4: The Savoy Family Band. Restaurants are Agave Cantina, Bailey’s Seafood & Grill and Johnson’s Boucaniere.
Nov. 11: Jim Voorhies & the All Niters. Restaurants are Chick-Fil-A, Ema’s and Rival’s Sports Grill.
Parc San Souci is located on East Vermilion Street with a big, beautiful fountain and pavilion. There is a lot of metered street parking and the parking garage overlooks the park. If weather seems to warrant a cancellation of Bach Lunch, check on this blog as you will know as soon as we do.
