Conn man performs this weekend

Pineville native Steve Conn performs two shows this weekend in Acadiana. The first is Nov. 17 at Vermilionville in Lafayette and again Nov. 18 at the Sliman Theater in New Iberia.

The performance is called Steve Conn & Friends featuring Joe McMahan and special guest David Egan. Conn is an pianist and accordionist and a tremendous singer-songwriter. He's played with Faith Hill, Mark Knopfler, Emmylou Harris, Keith Urban, Beausoleil and more in his career as a musician.

The performances are part of the Live in Louisiana series arranged by former Louisiana Crossroads director Todd Mouton and Bob Miller. The series aims to bring more live music to local venues.

Aside from being a professional studio and touring musician Conn has recorded several of his own albums. A few of his tracks can be found at Live in Louisiana's site. A calendar of its scheduled events is on the site as well.

Each performance is $15. Tickets are available at the door or through Live in Louisiana's website. Call 393-0080 with any further questions.

We've even got a blast from the past (1993) up on our Facebook page exposing the secret links between "Hey Pocky Way" and "Footloose" featuring Steve Conn, Sonny Landreth and Kenny "I'm Alright" Loggins. For real: https://www.facebook.com/liveinlouisiana. These'll be some really special gigs, hope to see y'all at the shows!
