Springtime in Louisiana is exciting. Crawfish are in season, there is Festival International anticipation and it’s right before we begin bracing ourselves for the oppressive heat of summer. One of the best features of spring has to be that every Friday we have the opportunity to hear free live music in the park for the Bach Lunch Series.

Bach Lunch is hosted by the Lafayette Science Museum. Various restaurants take turns offering lunches for under $10. Proceeds go to support the museum. The lunches always take place in Parc Sans Souci. In case of a rain-out check our site. Here is the Spring 2012 series line-up:

March 9: Les Freres Michot perform. Restaurants scheduled are Edie’s Restaurant, Hub City Diner and iMonelli’s.

March 16: Nouveau String Band perform. Restaurants scheduled are Abacus Restaurant & Catering, Ema’s Restaurant and Roly Poly.

March 23: The Viatones perform. Restaurants scheduled are French Press, Poupart’s Bakery and Tsunami Sushi.
March 30: The Pineleaf Boys Trio perform. Restaurants scheduled are Bailey’s Seafood & Grill, Creole Lunch House and Poupart’s Bakery.

It’s cool to bring your own lunch from elsewhere, just don’t bring your animals or your smoke to the park.
