Lafayette’s premiere film festival returns this weekend with four days of film screenings, panels, red carpet events, parties and workshops throughout Downtown Lafayette.

CFFS Smiling Through the Apocalypse

The Cane Fire Film Series screens the vintage documentary “Smiling Through the Apocalypse,” which chronicles the meteoric rise of Esquire Magazine Editor Harold Hayes.

Luis Alberto Urrea, best-selling author of 13 books and a former writer in residence (1996) at UL Lafayette, will speak at a dinner Sunday and a lecture on Monday.

The fall 2014 Bach Lunch concert series closes on a Cajun note Friday at Parc Sans Souci in Downtown Lafayette with a performance by perennial favorites Les Freres Michot.
