Six world-class choreographers will get together with 15 dancers and a production crew in Lafayette in October to produce “James Brown: Get on the Good Foot — a Celebration for Dance” ahead of its Oct. 22 world premiere at the famed Apollo Theater in Harlem, NY.

Vermilionville’s free monthly film showcase the Les Vues Film Series returns for March when it screens Alan Lomax’s Cajun Country tonight at 6:30 p.m.

Recently nominated in the “Best Roots Rock Band” category of Gambit’s annual Big Easy Awards, New Orleans’ Creole String Beans will bring a repertoire that ranges from Fats Domino to Duke Ellington to Bobby Charles to the Downtown Alive! stage Friday in Parc Sans Souci.

Friday’s Bach Lunch concert will remind music fans of a bygone era when Lafayette rockers The Viatones take the stage at noon.
