Photo workshop with Philip Gould on Sunday

Photographer Philip Gould will discuss basic principles of digital photography including lighting, composition and framing. Students will learn about the aesthetics of photography. As part of the workshop, the class will photograph around historic Grand Coteau, and review their work afterwards. Limited spaces are available and the class carries a modest tuition fee.

Philip Gould is a documentary and architectural photographer who has made Louisiana his home and favorite subject since 1974. Gould has photographed throughout the state, the south, Europe, the Caribbean, and Mexico, and published numerous books from his work. His most recent effort was a collaboration with renowned Cajun folklorist Barry Jean Ancelet, One Generation at a Time — Biography of a Cajun and Creole Music Festival.

The workshop takes place March 7, from 10:00 a.m. until after dark, at Casa Azul Gifts, 232 ML King Dr., Grand Coteau.
