Evening reading at UL’s Griffin Hall

Written by Anna Purdy
Thursday, January 26, 2012

New Orleans writers and poets Dave Brinks and Megan Burns perform a poetry reading Friday night courtesy of the Deep South Reading Series.

Burns and Brinks are married. She is an essayist, editor and performer while he is a biographer, journalist and essayist. Both are devoted poets, often performing in and around New Orleans. Together they work at the websites 17poets.com, tremblingpillowpress.com and solidquarter.blogspot.com.

Much of their works reflect the devotion they feel to New Orleans, both as a city in recovery and a historic city worth fighting for.

Admission to the reading is free. It takes place in Room 318 in Griffin Hall on UL’s campus. It begins at 7:30 p.m. Call Dr. Reed at 482-5503 with any questions.
