La. bank cited by feds

The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation placed New Orleans-based First Bank and Trust under a cease and desist order in July, accusing the institution of unsound banking practices. The FDIC released its list of July actions against more than 75 banks including FBT on Aug. 27. FBT has locations on Camellia Boulevard and Johnston Street in Lafayette.

According to the consent order between the FDIC and FBT,  the bank is not “admitting or denying any charges of unsafe or unsound banking practices or violations of law or regulation ...” Click here for the full list of FDIC actions.
