Drue Kennerson has been promoted to advertising director for IND Media. One of the first staff members to join the company when it was founded a decade ago, Drue is a respected media veteran with a depth of knowledge that has grown as the company expanded across platforms into multiple publications, websites and events. Drue is a Lafayette native.
Laura Whisnant also was promoted to the newly created position of office manager. Laura has worked for IND Media for four years, having served as sales assistant and business assistant. A Louisiana native, Laura is also involved with her husband Don in the family’s retail enterprise, Whisnant’s Jewelry.
New to the IND Media team are Jenna Fontenot and Kari Walker. Fontenot was hired as a new multi-media account executive. A UL Lafayette grad and licensed real estate agent, Jenna has experience in arts management and interior, website and graphic design. She is an Alexandria native and active in local theatre.
Walker, who joins the company as lifestyle writer, has a bachelor’s degree in nursing from UL. “I’ve lived in Lafayette since 2003, when I left UNO to attend UL,” Walker says. “I fell in love with Lafayette’s rich culture and never left,” the Northshore (Bush) native says, “and never intend to.”
Walker has taken on a number of editorial responsibilities over the past several months; she directs the content of the INDEats section, writes stories for INDfamily and helped launch the new INDfamily online product, for which she will play a key role. She is also a frequent contributor to INDHealth and ABiz’s “Around Town” feature, which tracks breaking development news throughout Acadiana.
