Registered Nurse Melissa Montgomery Magie has been named director of the emergency department at Our Lady of Lourdes. Magie brings a solid background in clinical nursing and nursing management to her new position and has worked as a trauma program manager. Additionally, she has medicine/surgery, emergency department and ICU experience. Magie is pursuing her master's degree in nursing from the University of South Alabama.

Dr. Vikram "Vik" Parmar has opened an orthopedic practice on the campus of Our Lady of Lourdes in the St. Mary Medical Office Building, located at 601 W. St. Mary Blvd., Ste. 510. Parmar specializes in orthopedic spine surgery and trauma. He is board certified from the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery and is a Fellow in Orthopedic Spine Surgery. Parmar treats patients on Fridays in his new office.

Edwina S. Mallery has been promoted to assistant vice president of Information Systems at Lafayette General Medical Center. She previously served as the clinical project manager in the IS department, managing the implementation of the electronic medical record system as well as other ancillary systems. Prior to her position in IS, Mallery worked for 15 years as a manager in the Health Information Management department at LGMC. She received her bachelor of science degree in health information management from UL Lafayette.

Jacqueline L. Hebert recently earned her certification as clinical nurse specialist. An intensive care unit day charge nurse with Our Lady of Lourdes, Hebert underwent a vigorous examination through the Louisiana State Board of Nursing to achieve the CNS qualification. She earned her master of science in nursing in 2007 from UL Lafayette and has attained certification in critical care, basic life support and advanced life support instructor status. Employed at Lourdes since 1995, Hebert has served as ICU staff nurse, coordinator of BLS and ALS, and ICU day charge nurse.
