For the second time in three years, The Independent Weekly has won second place in the Missouri Lifestyle Journalism Awards in its division. In its 48th year, the contest recieved more than 1,100 entries from 100 newspapers and writers from across the nation. According to the press release issued yesterday:
Sponsored and administered by the Missouri School of Journalism, it is the oldest and best-known feature writing and editing competition in American newspapering.
Honors were also awarded to newspapers like The Boston Globe, The Washington Post, The L.A. Times, The Baltimore Sun, and The Miami Herald.
