The Daily Advertiser's loss is a boon for KBON 101.1 FM in Eunice. The daily paper's longtime Arts and Entertainment Editor Herman Fuseiler has accepted a full-time gig manning the radio station's weekday morning show from 6-10 a.m. Fuselier made the announcement on Friday, his last day with the paper.
Since January 2006, Fuselier has hosted Zydeco Stomp on KBON from 4-7 p.m. on Sundays, featuring zydeco, blues, and rhythm and blues music. Before signing on with The Advertiser, he worked as a sports writer for The Daily World in Opelousas for 14 years, where he also wrote about local music.
Unfortunately, the career move also signals the end of Fuselier’s Bayou Boogie radio program that has aired on KRVS 88.7 FM on Saturday nights and Sunday afternoons for the last 15 years, featuring swamp pop, Cajun and zydeco music. His last show was Sunday. But his television program of the same name where he interviews local musicians will continue to air on KDCG TV, Channel 9 on Cox, on Fridays at 5:30 p.m. and Saturday afternoons at 1:30 p.m.

I listened to you on KBON and enjoyed your program, You brought a different touch of lagniappe to your programming. i really enjoyed and looked forward to your morning show on KBON. I'm sorry that it didn't work out as we all had hoped, but you did engage us in listening to music that we rarely hear in Louisivlle, KY. I miss your presence, but you will remain as a person whose love of music touched the hearts and soul of the world.
I don't know what you are currently doing, but whatever it is, I know that you will be an asset and a jewel.
