Starting on Monday, UL Lafayette's Jazz Ensemble presents Jazz Week. Catch three nights of jazz at Angelle Hall, beginning each night at 7:30 p.m. On Monday night, it's the UL Jazz Ensemble and Jazz Combo II. On Tuesday, it's Combo I, Combo III and the Guitar Ensemble on Tuesday, and the series wraps up on Wednesday night with the Faculty Jazz Septet.
General admission to Monday night's show is $10 and $5 for seniors and secondary students. Tuesday and Wednesday night general admission is $6, with senior citizens and secondary students at $4. All concerts are free to UL Lafayette students, faculty and staff with current ID, and to children 12 and under.
David Calhoun and Elizabeth “EB” Brooks are the first two employees of Lafayette Central Park Inc., the nonprofit charged with turning Lafayette Consolidated Government’s 100-acre Johnston Street Horse Farm property into a passive public park. Calhoun was named executive director, and Brooks is director of planning and design.
