The remaining five members of the Jena Six who haven't gone to trial could strike a plea deal with the LaSalle Parish district attorney to resolve their criminal cases. The Associated Press reports that defense attorneys and prosecutors have met to discuss possible plea agreements, but neither side would release any details of the discussion. The next hearing date for the five, who face aggravated second-degree battery charges, is scheduled for May 8.
David Calhoun and Elizabeth “EB” Brooks are the first two employees of Lafayette Central Park Inc., the nonprofit charged with turning Lafayette Consolidated Government’s 100-acre Johnston Street Horse Farm property into a passive public park.
