St. Landry Parish President Don Menard says he will propose a revision to an existing ordinance that will limit the sizes of trail rides to 1,000 people. Yesterday, the Daily World reported that there are three or four rides in the parish every month, sometimes with as many as 3,000 people. "Such large rides are almost impossible to police," Menard told the paper, "leading to complaints from landowners when riders cross their land, break fences and generally create a nuisance."
