Does Cox Communications have special promotional offers
they’re not telling you about? You may have noticed a series of ads being run
by EATEL promoting a new Cox offer – digital cable with HBO, preferred high
speed Internet and digital phone service, all for only $75 a month. The ads say
that Cox has only been advertising this plan in Ascension Parish, where it is
facing stiff competition from EATEL. But by law, Cox is required to offer the
deal here as well.
As a Cox customer, I was naturally curious and on
Monday, I called to see about upgrading my service. I found out that depending
on what you say, you may or may not be offered the special promotion. Read the

David Calhoun and Elizabeth “EB” Brooks are the first two employees of Lafayette Central Park Inc., the nonprofit charged with turning Lafayette Consolidated Government’s 100-acre Johnston Street Horse Farm property into a passive public park. Calhoun was named executive director, and Brooks is director of planning and design.
There will soon be a whole lot of shakin’ going on at Benny’s Sportshack Supplement Depot, a new concept by Opelousas native Benny Nele. Located at 2002 Johnston St., the supplement shop, smoothie bar and café, featuring hot off the press paninis and wraps, plans to open in late May.
