Hotel Acadiana to fly Crowne Plaza flag

In March Hotel Acadiana will begin a project that by year's end will have the 1801 W. Pinhook Road property flying a new, upscale flag. "We will be a Crowne Plaza after we are finished," says General Manager Mark Arnold. "We will be the second Crowne Plaza in the state."

The Astor-Crowne Plaza on Canal Street in New Orleans is Louisiana's lone Crowne Plaza hotel, a high-end brand by Holiday Inn.

Arnold could not yet put a dollar figure on the cost of the project but says it will be extensive. "It's going to be a complete renovation," he says.
