Burkenroad conference featuring local companies

A group of local publicly traded companies will be featured presenters at Tulane University’s Burkenroad Reports Investment Conference on Friday, April 25, at the Sheraton Hotel in New Orleans. The popular event is free and open to public, providing investors an opportunity to learn more about the outlook for the region’s public companies. The event runs from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The conference will feature 35 companies making presentations; among the Acadiana based entities (or those with a local presence) are PetroQuest Energy, OMNI Energy Services, Superior Energy Services, Stone Energy, Newpark Resources, CLECO Corp., IberiaBank, MidSouth Bank and Teche Federal Bank. A program of Tulane’s Freeman School of Business, Burkenroad now has 200 students producing investment research reports on 40 small cap stocks in six southern states. More than 400 graduates of this Tulane University program have moved on to careers in the investment field.

Recently, the Financial Times of London named the school’s finance department one of the 10 best in the world.
