After a decade at KATC-TV3, most recently co-anchoring the 5 p.m. and 10 p.m. newscasts, Julie Kelley signed off for good last Thursday. Andrew Shenkan, KATC's president and general manager, says the announcement of a "staffing modification to [the station's] news anchor team structure" that was to go into effect Monday of this week resulted in Kelley leaving the company "upon agreeable terms and conditions."
Shenkan declined to be specific about the change but says an announcement on the new anchor structure is forthcoming. Until that time, 6 p.m. co-anchor Marcelle Fontenot, weekend anchor Kate Mundy and morning show host Tracy Wirtz will rotate duties alongside Hoyt Harris, who anchors at 5, 6 and 10 p.m.
The INDsider was unable to reach Kelley for comment.

There will soon be a whole lot of shakin’ going on at Benny’s Sportshack Supplement Depot, a new concept by Opelousas native Benny Nele. Located at 2002 Johnston St., the supplement shop, smoothie bar and café, featuring hot off the press paninis and wraps, plans to open in late May.
