Steele picks four 1st-team Cajuns

The Ragin' Cajun offense did exceptionally well on Phil Steele's All-Sun Belt Conference Team released yesterday. Four players from the Sun Belt's top rated offensive attack earned a first-team honor.

Quarterback Michael Desormeaux, running back Tyrell Fenroy, center Chris Fisher and offensive guard Brad Bustle were named to the first team, with wide receiver Jason Chery and tackle Kyle Pirtle earning second team honors. Tackle Jonathan Decoster made the third team.

Steele is a respected college football guru and publisher of the best-selling Phil Steele's College Football Preview. His prognostications are typically right on; Steele also is predicting the Cajuns will play Louisiana Tech in the PetroSun Independence Bowl in Shreveport Dec. 28.

The Sun Belt will release its all-conference team Tuesday, Dec. 9.

(Update: As one reader pointed out, PetroSun is no longer the sponsor of Shreveport's Independence Bowl.)

If Steele's prognosticating on the "PetroSun" Independence Bowl" then the thoroughness his predictions are suspect as there is no sponsorfor the I-Bowl this year.
