ATC Associates, an environmental consulting firm, is moving its corporate headquarters from Woburn, Mass., to Lafayette. ATC Associates has 65 branches in 36 states, including an existing branch office in Lafayette.
"ATC is excited about our expansion and the ability to attract top talent for our corporate operations here in Lafayette," says Bobby Toups, ATC Associates CEO. ATC Associates provides services in environmental consulting, industrial hygiene, geotechnical engineering, and construction materials testing and inspection throughout the U.S. The company serves clientele in both public and private sectors including petroleum, real estate, retail, financial, insurance, construction, education, health care, hospitality, government, telecommunications and manufacturing.
Competition for companies like ATC Associates is fierce across the country, but local officials were able to entice the company with financial incentives and a quality workforce. Earlier this year, LEDA and city officials provided information to ATC supporting a proposal to move its headquarters to Lafayette. LEDA’s Business and Workforce Development departments presented a package of local, state and federal incentives and workforce training opportunities that made the case for this move. ATC anticipates producing more than $1 million annually in new payroll dollars as a result of this expansion.
The company’s workforce includes environmental engineers, geologists, hydrologists, ecologists, LEED accredited professionals, project designers, safety professionals, hazardous management planners and trainers. The company has 1,500 employees across the country, which makes ATC Associates one of the largest headquarter offices in Lafayette Parish.
