Miles Perret opens new wellness center

15.jpgNew services for cancer patients and survivors are being offered by the Miles Perret Cancer Services in Lafayette, which this evening will celebrate the opening a new wellness center. The grand opening will be held from 5-6:30 p.m. at the center located at 2130 Kaliste Saloom Road.

The MPCS wellness program offers several research-based programs including a cancer and cooking class, an exercise program for patients undergoing chemotherapy and small-group research with cancer patients. The center is open to anyone diagnosed with cancer, and services are free. MPCS has served more than 6,000 families since 2002; more than 1,200 families are currently receiving services through MPCS.
