Update: Southern Ladies take the cake

Big, gaudy, icing-covered congratulations are in order for the team from Sweet Southern Ladies Designer Cakes outside St. Martinville, who took home the $10,000 first-place prize in TLC’s Ultimate Cake Off that aired last night.

Sweet Southern Ladies is owned by sisters Martha Hebert and Rebecca Guidry, both UL Lafayette graduates. The Ultimate Cake Off series pits top bakers from across the country. The team’s winning creation will be featured at the 15th anniversary gala for the Peterson Automotive Museum.

The cake is the Ultimate Cake. The details and the professional manner it was exicuted, qualifies them as Ice Artist in a true manner. UL, St. Martinville, St. Martin Parish, and Louisiana can thank Martha and Becky and their tean for representing us so well.
