Meteorologist Chris Paulsen is returning to KATC TV3 Aug. 24 as weekend meteorologist. Paulsen should be a familiar face to longtime KATC viewers: He worked at the station from 1996 to 2000. Paulsen will replace meteorologist Kari Hall, who is leaving the local ABC affiliate to take the morning meteorologist job at KALB in Alexandria. Her last weathercast is Sunday, Aug. 23.
Paulsen, who has family in Abbeville, left KATC to take a job forecasting weather at WFOR in Miami, Fla. He has been out of broadcasting for the last few years. He holds a bachelor of science degree in meteorology from the University of Oklahoma as well as a BS in geology/renewable resources from UL Lafayette.

The 75-year-old company specializing in tubular fabrication and installation services to the oil and gas industry plans to offer shares of its stock to the public for the first time.
