Meteorologist Chris Paulsen is returning to KATC TV3 Aug. 24 as weekend meteorologist. Paulsen should be a familiar face to longtime KATC viewers: He worked at the station from 1996 to 2000. Paulsen will replace meteorologist Kari Hall, who is leaving the local ABC affiliate to take the morning meteorologist job at KALB in Alexandria. Her last weathercast is Sunday, Aug. 23.
Paulsen, who has family in Abbeville, left KATC to take a job forecasting weather at WFOR in Miami, Fla. He has been out of broadcasting for the last few years. He holds a bachelor of science degree in meteorology from the University of Oklahoma as well as a BS in geology/renewable resources from UL Lafayette.

I'm glad to see Chris back, always thought he was a class act. I liked Kari too, but sometimes you have to move on to better yourself.

The absence must have given him greater confidence. He presents the weather in a easy to understand manner. Glad he has returned.

I think that Chris Paulsen does an EXCELLENT job on the weather! Especially for being out of practice for about 9 years! I don't think that KATC had a loss at all. And to goodjobKATC..NOT .. Chris is the best, so I don't think KATC will be missing your weekend views of the news. The only loss is yours.
