LUS gets $11.6 million DOE grant

Lafayette Utilities System was one of a select 100 to be awarded a U.S. Department of Energy Smart Grid Investment Grant. Nationwide, 400 entries applied for the grant, which will help LUS further modernize its service with smart meters and software designed to allow LUS customers to better manage their energy use. The funding will also help LUS increase its interactivity with customers.

Funding for the grant comes from the American Reinvestment and Recovery Act, also known as the stimulus. For details on the LUS grant, go here.
