ESPN’s Pat Yasinskas, who covers the NFL’s NFC South division, cites unnamed sources in reporting that the Saints’ Jan. 3 inter-division season finale against the Carolina Panthers could be “flexed” to the 7 p.m. slot on NBC if the Saints are 15-0 and playing for a perfect regular season. Currenlty the game is scheduled to air at noon on Fox. But according to Yasinskas, NFL officials believe a Saints-Panthers match-up could generate more national interest and TV ratings.
