Cox issues SOS

Cox Communications has launched a new program to aid the recovery effort along the Gulf Coast as a result of the BP oil disaster.

Save Our Shore: Gulf Coast Relief is a multi-pronged approach, offering emergency grants to nonprofit groups that aid spill victims, partnering with groups that train volunteers in cleanup efforts and food drives, as well as accepting donations for the SOS Fund established at the Greater New Orleans Foundation, the oldest and largest philanthropic community foundation in the region. The company is running a series of 30-second promotional spots encouraging residents to donate to the fund and to get involved in the recovery effort.

To find out more about the program, log on to the SOS website.

Not so impressed at all. So some big wig thought up a PR stunt. Get my cable working and not freeze up like its doing this morning. Computer gets the hic ups evertime the HD gets a freeze too. If you're going to do something charitable, just do it. Do it quietly without a press release. I'm not impressed with PR.

If I COULD choose LUS, I'd have been on it long time ago. I'd have chosen it just to BE OFF SLEMCO !!! You think you're sick of hearing me about Cox. I don't dare indulge myself about them.... I do however, live with the hope that one day, we can choose our utilities as we do our telephone. I think we'll all get better service for our buck.
