We expect our youth to stop bullying even when it is meant as a simple minded "joke" because of course it always hurts the person at the receiving end of the stick. Readers should do the right thing and remnain on high grounds by being an example for our youth. Our children are constantly receiving mixed messages from adults who lack any sense of responsibility for raising children free of harassment. Why wouldn't it be okay for children to demean their peers when they see that adults think it is alright for them to ridicule let's say Acadians? When are we adults going to act like adults and be an example to follow for our youth. I could elaborate by going into the recent Rush Limbaugh incident who felt it was plainly alright to insult all the women on our planet, but that won't be necessary because by now you must have gotten the message: simply be polite in life and treat others respectfully.
