People simply live so much longer today than when both of these programs were incepted, and they have become overburdened. What Pelosi actually and truly said was, "We have to pass the bill so that you can find out what is in it, away from the fog of controversy." How many times has Joe Biden, Nancy Pelosi, etc. said something outright stupid (Joe Biden caught too close to open mike at Obamacare public announcement- 'This is a big f'kin deal', Nancy Pelosi paraphrase - 'Pass the bill, then we will find out what's in it', Nancy Pelosi on Meet the Press a few years ago clearly not understanding that natural gas is a fossil fuel that must be drilled for, etc., etc., etc.) It was just a meaningless slip of the tongue.
