Christopher must be the son of the milkman! Nah, he just looks more like our father's side of the family. The rest of us seem to resemble our mother's side. We look nothing alike, so, I don't blame you for not making the connection!

Jindal is still climbing the Republican ladder on the backs of Louisiana citizens. I wonder how many Louisianians will suffer and die for lack of insurance so that Jindal can further establish his conservative bona fides? I wonder if this question ever bothers him, or even crosses his mind? - Brent Faul

I didn't make the connection.
Next gig is tonight, 7-8:15 at Saint Street Inn. Heckle away! - Walter Pierce

Okay, point taken Walter, but, I still don't trust a multi thousand page bill being passed before 'I can find out what is in it, away from the fog of controversy.' I still think it is a dumb statement by Pelosi, but, maybe that is not how she intended to express her sentiment. I guess I'm becoming weary of intentional misquotes and editing of sound bites from all sides...makes me a little bitter! I also think Medicare and Social Security have to be reformed. People simply live so much longer today than when both of these programs were incepted, and they have become overburdened. Why do you think pension plans are becoming a thing of the past and insurance companies have resurrected, in recent years, guaranteed income benefits. If they are not reformed, Reagan may have been prophetic, and I absolutely do believe we, as a society, have become much more reliant on government rather than ourselves.
By the way, my brother, Christopher, tells me you have been playing or have played the banjo with him and some other folks? How's that going, and where's the next gig, so I can heckle the both of you! ;)

Dudley, you're regurgitating a misquote intentionally propagated by opponents of Obamacare, who have waged a much more effective PR campaign than have supporters of the Affordable Care Act.
What Pelosi actually and truly said was, "We have to pass the bill so that you can find out what is in it, away from the fog of controversy."
Lest we forget: Ronald Reagan in 1961 warned in an ad campaign funded by the American Medical Association that if Medicare passed we would all wake up one day in a socialist America. Slippery slope, you know?
The corporatocracy has been scaring the bejeezers out of Americans with the specter of socialism since ... well ... since forever. - Walter Pierce

Give me a break. He said Obamacare several times in that phone call. How many times has Joe Biden, Nancy Pelosi, etc. said something outright stupid (Joe Biden caught too close to open mike at Obamacare public announcement- 'This is a big f'kin deal', Nancy Pelosi paraphrase - 'Pass the bill, then we will find out what's in it', Nancy Pelosi on Meet the Press a few years ago clearly not understanding that natural gas is a fossil fuel that must be drilled for, etc., etc., etc.) It was just a meaningless slip of the tongue. For the record, I am not a supporter of Jindal being the VP candidate, anyway, but this 'gaffe' is quite a stretch. - Dudley E. LaBauve, III
