He has a LOT to gain: contact with voters in a forum where he could justify his positions, a space to air his perspective, participation in a civic event of the type that other countries could only dream about hosting. In this time where politics admittedly tends to be such a cynical pursuit, couldn't a front-runner who doesn't have to scrounge for votes still honor the democratic process, his constituency, his town's university, and the venerable League of Women Voters, by showing up?
