With Louisiana "sitting" on some of the largest natural gas deposits in the country, one--at least this one is--perplexed in comprehending why the council did not endorse conversion of the RODEMACHER plant to natural gas.(????????) The Haynesville Trend(the largest producing natural gas reserve in the United States) is less than 100 miles FM Boyce, LA. Natural Gas is a far/far cleaner(granted not totally) burning fuel than coal. Furthermore, the council failed to consider the cost of future "upgrades" mandated by the EPA. The city council has missed an enormous opportunity to ultimatly save the city an enormous amount of money-over the long run. Bottomline, this decision is "penny wise/but dollar foolish". - Greg Foreman
