OK, let us assume for a second this report is accurate-the US will become the worlds largest producer of oil/gas by 2017-for assumption sake. This doesn't mean nor does it reflect the fact that fuel could still be(probably will be)as pricey then as it is today. In effect, increase production from domestic sources will not necessarily decrease the pump price of gasoline or diesel. The reason being that the "bulk" of any increased production will be "marked" for export to third world countries. One only has to witness the expansion of export capabilities with respect to natural gas to appreciate this prediction. I would like to think my predictions are wrong/off base/not true;however, in a free market system, the product will always be supplied to the higher bidder or payer. If the bidder/payer is domestic fine...however, the real growth in energy consumption is not in the US but overseas, i.e, third world expansion, and that is where the bulk of increased US production will be shipped. The domestic demand will continue to chase the big hairy rabbit.
