This will be just the first of the monies Lafayette will be caught on the hook for. These type of projects are not cheap. Typically, large amounts of “good faith” payments are required prior to beginning the construction project. Plus, usurious termination fees are not uncommon. For now, until the legal dust settles, the city is potentially on the hook for literally millions of dollars in addition to the 3 million already awarded. From Joey's standpoint there is an upside. He can “farm out” the legal work to friends/supporters of his in the legal field. Nothing else needs to be said. Anyone knows where one can obtain a list past law suits against the city, the legal firms representing the city in the cases and what, if any, relationship such firms have with Durel or any members of his administration? I suspect such discovery would make for some eye opening revelations. - Greg Foreman

What does the City-Parish Attorney Mike Hebert have to say about Mr. Joe Leblanc's comment? He seems to comment on everything else. So I will ask this question: WHAT SAY YOU MIKE HEBERT? - Michael A. Moss

Joe, you are sure putting DUDU in a trick bag. Now how will he react when he loses his personal vendetta against Broussard Mayor Langlinais? That is the question. The citizens of Lafayette & Lafayette Parish are about to witness an award winning tap dance by Joey & Co. And you can MAKE BOOK ON DAT! - Michael A. Moss

I fully expect the parish to pay for this cluster. The property lies in the parish, NOT the city. Remember, we have two sets of accounting books. One for the parish, one for the city. NO city $$$ can be used for parish projects, or so 'they' say....right Joey? - Joe LeBlanc
