First we must remember that it was Governor Long who decided to play "chicken" with Truman in demanding all or nothing that was the reason Louisiana did not get more of the revenue before. Second we need to remember that this was passed as the last roll call vote of the Republican led 109th Congress. If this bill would have been held over to the new Democrat lead Congress it would not have had a chance of passage. Maxine Waters let the "cat out of the bag" on democrats plans for the oil companies. Louisiana will be hurt financially if certain standards, regulations, and heaven help us if Ms. Walters were to have her way. Ms. Landrieu takes a great deal of credit and barely ever mentions that it is Republicans who support Louisiana's Energy Coast. - Sharon
