I'm so pleased with the outcome of yesterday's committee vote! I can only hope that the rest of our elected officials from around the state will see that our local leadership sees the value in the preservation of this property.

If you'd like to watch RealPlayer video, go to http://house.louisiana.gov/H_Video/2009/May2009.htm
and scroll all the way down to May 27th and click on Natural Resources. Fast forward to 2:22:00 and it runs until 3:14:40. I love it when, right after the committee members all vote 'yea,' Joey Durel says "YAY!" - EB Brooks

A feel good political decision (politicians love this kind of thing) but for real ability, try to cut someones budget. - Horse Fart

Well done Joel, this is a great idea! Now how about a nice 2.5 mile running/walking track around the whole property. - Woody

Wow, something that is really a plus for the whole community, is tracking through the legislature. By passive, can we ride horses there? - Phil

I am pleased with the outcome of the Natural Resources committee meeting - I am even more pleased that the Lafayette Representatives that sit on the Natural Resources committee all showed their support of Lafayette by backing HB 853.

The leadership representing Lafayette Parish in Baton Rouge is strong -thank you for voting for the expressed wishes of Lafayette citizens. - Danica Adams
