I'd agree that the internet can give one a better perspective on news, but only by reading a variety of sources. The exception on TV (indeed, the Gold Standard) is 'The Newshour' on PBS. All the others, including Fox, merely report on frivolous talking points. They don't investigate, they regurgitate. They perpetrate the false dichotomy of "left/right" to keep us distracted from things that actually matter.

Hopefully print media can successfully transition to web-based, because most of them actually do have real investigative journalists reporting from locations around the world. But if you go to the internet and jump into the same echo chamber (i.e. Drudge and Fox News) then you really aren't doing any better than watching TV. True information seekers rely on a variety of sources. - JP

Well , should be obvious to everyone. The state media (AP, ABC, CBS, CNN, NBC and MSNBC ) are not giving the real news. They are just Obama propaganda organizations . I rely on Drudge Report and FOX news . However, lately I've been watching more business news CNBC or Fox business channel. I'm really getting sick of hearing about Obama and socialists agendas... - PlumpyBoy
