The fact the majority of MDs polled said they would take less Medicaid patients, affirms exactly what I believe of the majority of MDs in this state: THEY ARE INTERSTED IN $$$$ MORE THAN THE WELFARE OF THEIR PATIENTS! I heard the stat as 90% in one report, but I don't know if that's true... Maybe I've had bad luck with the doctors I've seen, my parents have seen, my in-laws have see, but the majority of them wanted a whole lot of money for their 15 mins. The fact a Medicare patient has to go to Shreveport to get an oral surgeon, is deplorable and says a whole lot about the attitude of "the medical profession" as a whole, esp in Lafayette. So, to hear doctors would see less poor patients was no shock or surprise. If you're poor in this city, in this state, you'd better not get sick.... I don't know what happened to getting into the medical profession to help sick people..... - Myrick6
