"Gimme the money"...she doesn't care about votes anymore. If she isn't re-elected again she'll just become another lobbyist in D.C. like they all do. - justwundering

My God, her state doesn't want her to vote for it...she's getting money from the Ins. companies not to vote for it. To me, she'd get the money and reelected if she did not vote for it.
But she will take the money and vote for it just to be in the good graces of BHO and Harry Reid.

I would guess that Sen. Landrieu is both out for money and for votes, but that she needs the votes more than the money. Given that the atmosphere is growing more and more polarized every day, it would seem that Sen. Landrieu will once again be in a highly competitive race. Landrieu has, in many ways, been lucky to face (1) a wacko, (2) a very unlikeable woman whose primary battle tarnished her in the eyes of many in her own camp, and (3) someone who ran against David Vitter as the liberal candidate, only to morph into a conservative in order to challenge Sen. Landrieu. I'm sure that there are groups on the Democratic side who would throw some cash her way if she voted for a public option, but, politically, it is wiser for a Senator who has been in three extremely close elections to position herself as a moderate to conservative Democrat in a state trending conservative. - Cajunbait
