Nope. Detractors are rarely ever satisfied, as they think and act based upon ideology, rather than ideas.
The only thing that ever happens is that the detractors simply become irrelevant over time, and a new crop of people grow up and into the scene. The detractors remain, foaming on OUR PUBLIC AIRWAVES, with their corporate TEA party photocopy-mass-produced picket signs.

Having said all that, once in a while, the detractors do hold opinions we should heed, if only someone to thoughtfully debate their position would arise. One may say, they help prevent the equally destructive effect of the "echo chamber" wherein one set of ideas, left unchallenged, veer far off into a line of thinking not originally contemplated.
But usually the detractors are a bunch of NIMBY know-nothings, who only think in the individual selfish-interests, rather than in the interests of our overall community. Often this is due to the mainstream thinking not being drastically different than the detractors, and the solutionists are failing to communicate effectively with those on the margins who would be open to better ideas.
The detractor know nothings derive benefits of a community, but are not willing to pay for them, or share them equitably. - Proactive Solutionist

Without a doubt? Really? I am sitting here pondering that "Without a doubt, Lafayette being one of the 10 best cities for new jobs is a result of the work of LCG". I have a little doubt - I agree with you on the people however. Any examples of the LCG work that put Lafayette on the list?

Note: I do think LCG does a decent job the majority of the time. - Hmmm.

I wonder if this will silence any of the LCG detractors. This is, without a doubt, a result of the work of the local people and local legislators. - Solutions?
