Take the annual $450k per year appropriated to NON-GOVERNMENT Organizations and use it to pay Fire and Police, or to hire more much needed first responders. Ooops...can't do that. The Fire Dept raise means that everyone above that would have to have raises also, according to how much time they have in and their rank. I think it would result in more dollars going out than coming in, and I absolutely will not support any additonal tax increases. Since revenue is down, I think its wise to hold off on raises. Firefighters can't get a raise, however LUS electrical white collar workers got a large raise and then said they need to raise rates. Regarding GPS, the Dept of Agriculture vehicles goes all over the state, so one could expect significant savings, sounds like a goofy Data processing department, not IT idea.
