Seems like Bobby Jindal would break out a power point presentation on every out-of-state fund-raising junket to show that Louisiana, for the most part, is not participating in this recession. Louisiana and large portions of Texas, along with some spotty areas of the country, appear from the map to mostly be gaining jobs. Or is it, maybe like everything else, Louisiana is just slow to catch up with the rest of the nation. That might explain why Lafayette is losing jobs faster than most of the state, we're always ahead of the state in everything. - Cajunhiker

For all those looking for employment during these difficult times, research is key to landing the right job. Many publications show different categories for the best companies to work for. Also, another worthwhile site is SalaryFor.com http://www.salaryfor.com/
which has a huge database of actual salaries that companies are paying for different positions as well as career advice and job listings. You can post your own salary or view others for free.
