I'm not required by law to pay Sears and Home Depot. You use a false analogy. Look, I'm fine with the idea of cameras at traffic intersections and I think it does encourage safer driving. But I hate the fact that half of the money collected in fines (more than a million dollars in one year so far) goes to a private out-of-state company. If this were a program set up and operated wholly within Lafayette, that would be great.
